My Boy

It's official, Tucker is mine. And my first "foster failure" as they call it.

He is SUCH a good boy and he fits in so well here. Riley and Jasmine adore him, and vise versa. He is incredibly smart, sweet, and loving. The trainer thinks hes going to make an awesome agility dog! He will start a basic obedience class in September, then move on to beginner's agility.

Goodbye, Bandit

In Memory of Bandit
February 1993 ~ July 21, 2007
Bandit was my cousin's German Shorthaired Pointer. What an awesome dog he was. He had to be put to sleep today... his old body just couldn't go on anymore.
You will be missed Bandit.
~When The Time Comes~
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this--the last battle--can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close--we two--these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Tucker

Tucker is our new foster. This poor boy spent his first two years tied to a pole and abused by his owner, who then dumped him at a shelter where he spent 8 long months. He was finally surrendered to the rescue and found his way to our foster home. He is incredibly smart and super sweet. Riley and Jasmine love him too, he just may be a keeper!

Gracie is Adopted :)

Gracie went to her new home in Maine today. It was very hard saying goodbye though.
I did get a call from her new mom already, saying everyone came to meet miss Gracie and she was getting a lot of belly rubs. I think she is going to be very happy. Updates to come!
